What is MLA Style

...What is MLA style, anyway?

When you write a college-level paper, you present your thoughts and research in a professional way - a big part of that process is giving credit to the other authors and researchers whose material you use to make your arguments. The format you use to give credit to these past scholars, both in the body of the paper and in the Bibliography or Works Cited page, is called the "citation style".

There are many different citation styles in the academic world, some of which are specific to certain disciplines. At AMDA, you'll write all your papers in MLA Style from the Modern Language Association, which is used widely throughout the Humanities. See the links below about MLA Style and how to properly format your citations.
