After AMDA, you will be faced with the challenge of auditioning for casting directors, agents, and various theatrical production companies. The skills you develop during your time here at AMDA will assist you when you make the transition from student to working professional. This project – indeed this entire semester of study – is geared towards allowing each student to discover how to accurately place themselves within the context of American Musical Theatre. After completing your research on the Golden Era of musical theatre, you will have enriched your own audition songbook as well as your understanding of the art form. You will be on your way to becoming not just a performer, but also an artist who respects and understands their craft.
